A better LinkedIn?


I know, I know, all the books say you have to maintain a “top of mind” profile on LinkedIn. But really, how many “eye tests”, “are you a genius?” and the like are we to be subjected to.

I have often described LinkedIn as Facebook for business, But it’s not Facebook. We should all be striving to make LinkedIn a place for business people to interact, share best practices, news and ideas. To post for the sake of posting impresses no one.

To the contrary, as an executive recruiter, what I typically think is that those who post this kind of drivel have too much time on their hands; and want to waste the time of everyone else.

I suspect that what I have written will fall mostly on deaf ears. But maybe if enough people speak up, those who would waste our time will get the message.
